Research Focus:
I study the consequences of eastern red cedar encroachment into native prairies. I focus on the belowground footprint of encroachment—impacts on soil water and carbon dynamics, the microbial community and other ecosystem functions and services including forage productivity, wildfire risk, and wildlife habitat.
