Area of Expertise:  Meteorology/Climatology

Research Focus:
I am working on establishing a universal statistical definition of “heat wave” because I believe the criteria used most often is too extreme and limited.  I also hope to create a climatology of heat wave events by first determining trends on a regional basis. My research is currently focused on the Southern Plains, but I hope to broaden the project scope once the basic parameters are set.  I also plan on working with researchers studying other environmental factors to see the impact on social economic sectors.
